Anyone who knows me well knows that I *love* message boards online.  I have a couple that I chat on daily.  One of my online friends lives in Germany and sent me a RAK (random act of kindness) of some chocolate.  YUMMY!!

I’m not usually a fan of milk chocolate (I much prefer very dark chocolate), but this stuff is so yummy and creamy it is UNBELIEVABLE!!!

The flooring in is installed in our living room, and entry way stairs.  Thank you so much Dad and Sam for installing it.  I love the new floor…it is so pretty, and easier to clean than the yucky carpeting!  Ronnie is even adjusting to the flooring and has only slid into the wall a couple of times.

Here are some pictures of the process:

Saturday afternoon/night Al and I had his work Christmas party, so Andrew got to stay with Grandma and Linda.  I hear they went swimming.  After Dad and Sam were done working for the night, they all went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse.  Here is a picture Linda got of them celebrating…

Otherwise, not much is going on here.  Andrew has been bringing home 3rd grade level books to read at night in his “book bag”.  He says he doesn’t like to read, but he sure does get into the stories and appear to enjoy them.

After having a 4 day weekend last weekend, Andrew had a hard time getting up and ready for school on Monday morning, but luckily he was only upset with me and I’m told he has had a great week at school and has had very good behaviors.

Have a good weekend!  We have plans to go see a movie.  Andrew finally wants to go to the theater again, so we are taking him up on that and gonig to see Madagascar 2…it is playing in a nearby town in an old theater that has been renovated into a “dinner” theater.  We will have lunch there while watching our movie.

The only downside to Andrew’s unexpected day off of school today was a dentist appointment.  He had a good check-up and has no cavities…he even lost another tooth while at the dentist.  He had a tooth that was really, really loose and while doing x-rays the hygenist pulled the tooth.  Yeah Andrew!

While I was in the waiting room at the dentist waiting for Andrew, the receptionist found out that schools are cancelled again tomorrow because of this cold snap.  It is supposed to be colder (air temp and wind chill) tonight than last night, although it is supposed to get above 0 during the day tomorrow, unlike today.  Andrew is very excited to have 2 days off in a row.  Add in the fact that Grandma and Grandpa are coming tomorrow and it is a gold star day!!

Yup, it’s cold outside.  Andrew’s teacher told me when I was helping in the classroom this afternoon that the district had already called school for Thursday.  Andrew is looking forward to the day off of school.  He’s already making plans to watch movies, play Wii, and play Super Nintendo.  Ah, the life.

Otherwise, we have been busy since my last blog update.  Andrew had a little bit of a hard time re-adjusting to school life, but is doing good now.  He thoroughly enjoyed Christmas break.

I’ve been busy painting our living room.   I painted it a sage green color, and I think it looks GREAT!  Much better than the “construction white” that it was.  My parents, along with my aunt and uncle, are coming over this weekend to install the new laminate flooring in my living room!!  I’m so excited!  Our carpeting has been needing to be replaced for a long, LONG time.  I’ll share pics when everything is done.

Andrew’s room is getting laminate flooring too…we’ve suspected for a while that he has some allergies, so decided that it would be a good idea to get rid of the carpeting and put something in that is easier to clean.  He has been busy all week helping me move most of the stuff from his bedroom down to the family room to make it easier this weekend.

Once all the work is done in the living room I can’t wait to start doing some scrapbooking/papercrafting again.  I have a lot of ideas of things I want to make for the living room/kitchen and am excited to see them hopefully become reality!
